Telemedicine involves the transfer of electronic medical data (i.e. high resolution images, sounds, live video and patient records) from one location to another via two main methodologies:
Referral Site Referring physicians or sonographers using the Tele-Echocardiography referral workstation can effortlessly transfer full motion videos, clips, and still images of echocardiograph sessions to a consulting cardiologist. This user-friendly referral workstation is equipped for hands-free capture of echocardiograph studies. Simple mouse clicks, grab still images, video clips and simplify data entry.
Consultation Site Powerful image measuring capabilities are available to assist the consultating cardiac specialist. Video clips can be bookmarked for quick reference and review. Measuring tools can be used with both video clips and still images. Panning, zooming and a variety of magnification settings are accessed by simple mouse clicks, while the integration of easy-to-use dropdown menus expedite the rapid selection and entry of patient data during an echocardiograph exam. Annotation capabilities including graphic, text and audio are also standard features integrated in the tele-echo solution.
During real-time consultations, the consulting cardiologist can remotely control cameras and medical device selection, as well as capture video or still images as they are transmitted live from the referring site.
Once an interpretation is complete, the consulting cardiologist can use the automated report feature to quickly generate a health assessment report. A password protected signature feature allows the cardiologist to electronically sign the report prior to the system faxing or emailing the report to the referring facility.
Tele-Echocardiography is uniquely scalable; providing simple point-to-point clinical or an enterprise-wide architecture solution. |
