For Epic Integrated Customers

ViTel Net’s vCareNet for Epic app passes patient and scheduled event context from Epic to the ViTel Net platform upon single sign on launch from Epic to ViTel Net. That information is used to create the patient and telehealth encounter in the ViTel Net system for the facilitation of delivery of patient care at a distance. The information may also be used by ViTel Net support personnel to provide technical support for a given telehealth encounter. ViTel Net provides methods within the vCareNet for Epic app to write images captured by the patient and attached to the telehealth encounter in ViTel Net back to the patient’s chart in Epic for use by the patient’s care team in managing the patient’s health. ViTel Net also writes back connection status and technology self test results of participants in the telehealth encounter on ViTel Net’s platform back to Epic for use by clinicians for situational awareness and administrators for monitoring potential operational performance issues.ViTel Net retains data for the health system in accordance with section 7 of our End User License Agreement. ViTel Net does not share or transmit data received from Epic to third parties or third party products without authorization from the licensing Covered Entity as defined by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
