The MedVizer™ Tele-Ultrasound System

Now ultrasound sonographers can record full motion, individual clips, and still images of ultrasound studies, attach them to an electronic patient record, and send the record to a radiology specialist regardless of geographic boundaries, distance or time, for rapid, accurate interpretation.

There is no better example of the versatility, flexibility and robustness of ViTel Net's MedVizer™ application software than found in the MedVizer Tele-Ultrasound system. MedVizer Tele-Ultrasound evolved from the development of both the MedVizer Tele-echocardiography and Tele-Radiology solutions. Using tele-echocardiography as the foundation and integrating components of tele-radiology has produced a easily customized clincial specific referral/consultation application for ultrasound specialists and sonographers.

Remote Referral Site
Referring physicians, clinicians and sonographers using the Tele-Ultrasound referral workstation can effortlessly transfer full motion videos, clips, and still images of sonographic sessions to a consulting radiologist. This user-friendly referral workstation is equipped for hands-free capture of sonograph studies and simplified data entry capabilities. Simple mouse clicks grab still images, and video clips, while the integration of easy-to-use dropdown menus expedite the rapid selection and entry of patient data during a ultrasound exam.

Radiologist Intepretation Workstation
Customized workflow and alert features notify consulting radiologists of incoming consult requests. Integrated patient status tracking features keep healthcare providers informed while ensuring the consultation process progresses smoothly. Consultations begin by accessing the patient record forwarded by the referring site. Clinician assessments are conducted by reviewing the patient data entries, recorded MPEG files, and still imges.

Radiologist can utilize integrated collabrotive functions to request additional information or images, and can establish an interactive videoconferencing session to view ultrasounds in real-time. Clinicians can create digital video bookmarks to identify key areas in longer video clips, and can create short, high-quality CINE loops. Image enhancement tools such as panning, zooming, magnifying, length-, area-, and angle- measuring, graphic-, audio-, and text- annotating are available to radiologists to assist in still image intepretation.
