SPEAKER: Gigi Sorensen, RN, MSN, Corporate Director for Telehealth, Shriners Hospital for Children

Gigi Sorenson is the Corporate Director of Telehealth for Shriners Hospitals for Children. This role has responsibility for the virtual care program and platform across all Shriners facilities, nationally and internationally. Prior she was Chief Clinical Officer/VP of Operations for a vertically integrated telehealth company and was responsible for assuring clinical integration of workflow processes and applicability of products and software developed for the customer.

Ms. Sorenson has developed remote patient monitoring, direct to consumer, outpatient specialty clinic, and inpatient acute care telehealth programs while working in the rural healthcare system telehealth space. She has published on remote patient monitoring program success and partnerships required for success. She has been the principle investigator on numerous federal grants and foundational funding to develop and expand telemedicine programs across the rural southwest.

Her clinical expertise is in Cardiology where she was an advanced practice nurse in private practice and then transitioned to the administrative side. There she developed a comprehensive cardiovascular service line for Northern Arizona Healthcare system.

She is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a Master of Science in Nursing degree and holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. An active member in the American Telemedicine Association and past chair of the Business & Finance SIG and of the Industry Council. On a personal note, she loves to hike, ride her horse, and volunteer on short term medical missions internationally.
